The EverCrop project is developing a suite of models and decision-support tools to provide systems-modelling capability to the EverCrop farming systems for scoping, extrapolation and analysis of experimental work. Importantly, it also provides the tools necessary to evaluate the role perennials could play under possible future climate and market scenarios, and the role for possible new species.
EverCrop has developed a decision-support approach to help producers and advisors determine the best use of perennials in their circumstances, based on productivity, profitability and sustainability drivers at the whole-farm level. Examples include decision support tools aimed at evaluating pasture establishment and pasture cropping trade-offs. The decision support tools, processes and associated advisor training form a key part of the methodology for developing and delivering recommendations within and beyond the initial focus regions.Contact Rick Llewellyn
